This piece is part of RELICS: The Last Cut, the curatorial line of The Frame Beyond reserved for what survives when the final act has already been completed. Not the origin. Not the dream pursuit. The aftermath.

Inspired by Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street), the relic captures the severed head of the lord of nightmares, brutally cut above the exposed spine, as it sinks and anchors itself in a dense pool of blood from which its lethal metallic claws menacingly re-emerge.

Work Features & Author Details

• Scenic Blood Pool Base with Emerging Claws: The structure rests on an organic base shaped like a glossy scarlet blood pool, from which the iconic four curved blades of the clawed glove emerge.
• Double Exposure & Removable Hat: The famous brown fedora is entirely removable. Upon removal, the piece reveals the entire skullcap devastated by deep burns and necrotic grooves.
• Spine & Sweater Flap: From the severed neck protrudes the torn flap of the red and dark green horizontal striped sweater, grafted onto the bloody spine supporting the bust.
• Visceral Scream & Anatomical Details: Expression contorted in an eternal scream, mouth agape with raised tongue and decaying dentition, bloodshot eyes, and burned skin finished with glossy and matte contrasts to simulate living flesh.
• Multi-Level Pictorial Treatment: Artistic hand application with technical primers, high-end acrylic pigments, oil washes, glossy enamels for blood effects, and museum protective clear coat.

• Museum Protective Finish: Final matte, totally opaque anti-reflective shielding combined with high-gloss enamels for blood and mucous membranes.
