Concept

This sculptural work is part of RELICS: The Last Cut, the curatorial line by The Frame Beyond dedicated to what remains when the final act has already been completed. Not the origin. Not the action. The aftermath.

Inspired by Freddy Krueger, the work does not represent him as a character or during the dream chase, but as a testamentary relic: a severed head, an exposed fragment, a relic bearing the marks of biological damnation and fire.

The Work

The burned skin is sculpted and hand-painted with deep chromatic layering to achieve an organic and visceral effect. The fabric/sculpture hat is removable, conceived as an artifact recovered from the scene. The glove with metal blades is magnetic, allowing the pose to be modified without losing its menacing aura.
