RELICS: The Last Cut - Valak (The Nun)

Concept

This sculptural work is part of RELICS: The Last Cut, the curatorial line of The Frame Beyond dedicated to what remains when the final act has already been accomplished. Not the origin. Not the action. The aftermath.

Valak's bust is a sacrilegious relic that survived a blood-soaked evocation. Not the demonic manifestation in motion, but the definitive totemic artifact of a presence that refuses to fade.

The Work

The Mephistophelian and penetrating gaze freezes the environment through the deep folds of the worn monastic veil. The figure terminates at the base, revealing a broken spine, beside which lies an inert and profaned crucifix, witness to an impotent faith.
