Concept

This sculptural work is part of RELICS: The Last Cut, the curatorial line by The Frame Beyond dedicated to what remains when the final act has already been accomplished. Not the origin. Not the action. The aftermath.

The bust of Jason Voorhees is the surviving testament to decades of massacres at Crystal Lake. Not the moving colossus, but the final relic: the head brutally severed above the broken spine, a silent witness to infinite violence.

The Work

Weathered surfaces, mud, deep scratches, and the legendary hockey mask scarred by blows and time. From the base emerges the truncated spine next to the heavy machete with a bloodied blade, sealed within the sculptural material.
