Concept
This sculptural work is part of RELICS: The Last Cut, the curatorial line by The Frame Beyond dedicated to what remains when the final act has already been accomplished. Not the action. Not the myth. The aftermath.
Inspired by one of the most visceral and disturbing icons in horror cinema history, the work extracts the figure of Freddy Krueger from the big screen, solidifying it in physical space as a pure wall sculpture (without a poster).
The Work
The dramatic core lies in the legendary "Chest of Souls": a harrowing anatomical architecture of tormented flesh where the faces of victims emerge in a three-dimensional, high-relief tumult, crystallized in an eternal scream of pure terror.
The upward gaze in ultimate destructive ecstasy, the torn details of burnt skin, and the presence of the two independent sculptural elements — the iconic clawed glove with blades and the severed hand — create a solemn, disturbing, and monumental scenic presence that dominates the environment.
